Siamo nel dietro le quinte di un teatro vuoto, desolato. Il nostro sguardo è ricambiato da quello di Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes), che ci racconta di una storia di riscatto e decadenza. E' il pianoforte a rompere il silenzio: ritma la voce straordinariamente calda e intensa di questa cantautrice inglese di origini pakistane, che attraverso le sue composizioni canta di ambigui terrori e ingenuità, dove il sacro e profano tingono le sfumature.
Con Laura si è trascinati in una moratoria sul senso dell' esistenza, la narrazione di paure che lasciano spazio a prospettive rassicuranti: "you'll be famous for longer and then, your name is tattooed on every boy’s skin, uh Laura you're more than a superstar".

Dopo il successo del primo album Fur and Gold, uscito nel 2006 e anticipato dal singolo The Wizard, Natasha ha mantenuto alto l'indice di aspettative con Two Suns, risultato dell'ispirazione che ha tratto dal suo temporaneo trasferimento negli Stati Uniti e attraverso il quale emerge Pearl, descritto come il suo alter-ego « ...una femme-fatale bionda, distruttiva, che pensa solo a se stessa. Una personalità che agisce come un velo sulla Natasha Khan più mistica e spirituale».

A giugno è stato annunciato che il 15 ottobre uscirà il terzo capitolo della saga musicale di Bat For Lashes, The Haunted Man, per il quale la cantante si è liberata dei suoi caratteristici ornamenti rituali arricchiti dai vari piumaggi per mettersi completamente a nudo. Una semplicità disarmante, ricca di un significato così profondo che solo il minimalismo è in grado di dare.
Questo singolo di lancio, già testato e acclamato in numerosi live, aumenta l'attesa per quello che si preannuncia essere l'album che confermerà Bat For Lashes alla vetta del successo maturo.
